Memory Makers
The Ideal Kid-Friendly Weekend
When it comes to delighting kids and parents alike, Corydon knows how to play up its best assets. Discover nature, zip through canopies, tap into the history of Indiana, and — most importantly — make lasting memories with the kids in your life.

Day 1
Thursday Evening
After spending some time in the car, you’ve likely worked up an appetite and the desire to stretch your legs!
Grab dinner at one of Corydon’s family-friendly restaurants. Everyone in your family will find something they enjoy at a locally owned Mexican restaurant, like Rita’s Taco Shop, El Nopal, and El Nopalito.
Get some fresh air at the town’s parks, such as Hayswood Nature Reserve or Rice Island, both of which have plenty of space to play. Or take in some of the beautiful natural scenery on the Indiana Creek Trail — you’ll forget you’re just outside of town on this paved path winding along the creek among wildlife such as deer, bald eagles, and blue herons.
Check into your hotel or vacation rental. The Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express have indoor pools for fun any time of the year, and in the summer months, you can enjoy the outdoor pool at the Clarion Pointe. Or have plenty of room to stretch out in one of the area’s vacation rentals, such as High Ridge Log Cabins, Along Blue River Cabin Rentals, or several options on Airbnb or Vrbo. Nature lovers will find great camping options at our state and county parks.

Day 2
Friday Morning
Take advantage of reduced weekday traffic at one of our most popular attractions, Indiana Caverns or Squire Boone Caverns. Guided tours take you deep into our greatest natural treasure where you can walk alongside underground streams, investigate captivating cave formations, discover fossils, and observe fascinating plant and animal life hundreds of feet below the earth’s surface. Tours vary in length and terrain, but most are easy walks the whole family can enjoy. And with a constant temperature of 52 degrees, the caves are a perfect outing all year long.
Friday Lunch
Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, you can find a delicious lunch at Boone’s Kitchen and Candy Shop in the pioneer village at Squire Boone Caverns. All of their food is made from scratch, down to their delicious freshly baked bread and treats. This is casual fare, such as pulled pork or chicken salad sandwiches, perfect for a quick stop before more adventures. If you’re visiting during a different time of year, Corydon’s restaurants are just a quick trip back into town, or you can plan ahead with a picnic lunch on the grounds of either cave.
Friday Afternoon
After diving below the earth, it’s time to fly high. Harness yourself for the zipline ride of your life at Squire Boone Caverns Zipline Adventures, zooming over caverns and treetops. From introductory trips designed to give newbies just a taste of zipline action to whizzing down Indiana’s longest zipline, we have an exciting excursion for everyone. If you’re a true adventure enthusiast, be sure to check out the Bat Chaser aerial coaster at Indiana Caverns for the thrill of a lifetime. Riders summit a 50-foot tower before twisting and turning 603 feet to the ground with the option to free fall.
Friday Dinner
It’s time to take a break and refuel for tomorrow! Grab a bite at one of Corydon’s newest dining options, Flipdaddy’s, where you’ll find tasty burgers with almost every type of topping imaginable. Substitute the meat for an Impossible Burger for an extensive vegetarian menu.
Friday Evening
The fun continues at Golf Shores Fun Center! Indoor and outdoor 18-hole miniature golf courses mean there’s something to do in any weather.

Day 4
Sunday Morning
Before venturing home, spend a little time outdoors. We recommend the mile-long looped accessible trail Tulip Valley Trail at O’Bannon Woods State Park, which has plenty of opportunities to sit and enjoy the scenery and interactive displays to learn about local plants and animals.
