Take a Field Trip

Whether you have years of experience learning outside the classroom, or you’re just getting started, you’ll find some great resources for homeschool and e-learning in Southern Indiana.

Harrison County has long been a favorite field trip destination for hands-on learning. So much has changed this year, but field trips don’t need to be canceled—just adapted.

Why not take a family field trip to Southern Indiana? You can make memories and learn together.

The town of Corydon was founded in 1808, and you can tour Indiana’s first state capitol building and explore the historic downtown, including the Harrison County Discovery Center, Corydon Capitol State Historic Site, Zimmerman Art Glass, and more.

Just outside of town, you can visit three caves: Indiana Caverns, Marengo Cave, and Squire Boone Caverns. Your family will have so much fun that they won’t realize they’re learning about cave formations and unique animal life!

The adventure doesn’t need to stop there: You’ll find a lot more family fun in Harrison County, including canoeing, ziplining, and nature walks.
