Day 1
Friday
Afternoon: Check-In at your chosen family-friendly accommodation in Harrison County, where you'll be welcomed with warm hospitality. Check out the Kitner House in historic downtown Corydon or one of the many hotels in town! There is always the option to dive right into nature and camp at one of many beautiful Harrison County campgrounds.
Dinner: Enjoy a laid back meal and feast on wings at Cluckers Corydon or dig in to a juicy burger at Flipdaddy's.
Evening: Take a leisurely walk in the charming downtown area to soak in the cozy atmosphere and perhaps enjoy some early fall foliage. Take the Historic Walking Tour or check out the shops downtown. Be sure to stop in for a sweet treat at Lazy Cow Creamery on Chestnut Street.
Day 2
Saturday
Breakfast: Enjoy food like grandma used to make with a meal at Fredericks Cafe in downtown Corydon. Fredricks is sure to fill you up with eggs any way you like them, biscuits and gravy, or pancakes from scratch. No one will leave here hungry!
Morning: Take a drive along the spectacular Ohio River Scenic Byway from Corydon to Lanesville for the ultimate 'leaf-peeping' experience. The colors of the Hoosier State are unmatched. Be sure to drive another section of this byway on Sunday after a hike in O'Bannon Woods State Park.
Afternoon: Head to Lark Ranch, the highlight of your weekend adventure. This family-friendly destination offers a plethora of activities. Train Rides: All aboard! Take a ride on the train and enjoy the scenic countryside views adorned with autumn colors. Pumpkin Patch: Let the kids select their own pumpkins to carve later in the day. Delicious Food: Satisfy your taste buds with delectable fall treats like caramel apples, kettle corn, and warm cider. Rides and Games: Enjoy thrilling rides and games suitable for all ages, ensuring non-stop fun.
Dinner: Head back to Corydon for a family dinner at El Nopal, El Nopalito, or Rita's Taco Shop. Eveyone is sure to find something they love at one of our Mexican Restraunts.
Day 3
Sunday
Breakfast: Grab a coffee from KentJava or stop in at Bagel Girls for a quick bite before starting your day of adventures!
Morning: Immerse yourselves in the natural beauty of Southern Indiana. Discover the picturesque Obannon Woods State Park. Lace up your hiking boots and explore its well-maintained trails. The vibrant fall leaves and crisp air create an enchanting setting for your hike. Opt for a visit to the Hayswood Nature Reserve, known for its serene beauty. Stroll along its trails, meandering through forests adorned with the rich colors of autumn. If you're looking for a shorter hike, the Indian Creek Trail offers a delightful walk through the woods. It's perfect for families with young children or those seeking a more relaxed outdoor experience.
Lunch: Enjoy lunch with a view; at The Overlook, you'll be treated to a lunch experience like no other. Take a seat on the outdoor terrace or by large windows that offer panoramic views of the Ohio River and its stunning surroundings. Dive into their famous fried chicken and desserts that will make your mouth water.
