Harrison County boasts two unique golf courses: Chariot Run Golf Course and Old Capital Golf Club. Both are an easy drive from Corydon, with Chariot Run 20 minutes away and Old Capital just a couple of minutes outside of downtown. You'll find a lot of variety between these 18-hole courses. Learn more about them below!
Chariot Run Golf Club
Chariot Run is a links style golf course with the exception of three holes where trees come into play. An errant tee shot here or there will have no trouble finding the tall grass heather. With exquisite bentgrass fairways and greens, this course has a Northern feel in the fall. Also, due to few trees on the course, don’t be surprised when it feels windier than the area was forecasted to be, making this course even more challenging. Along with the great 18 holes, Chariot Run also has a large range, chipping area, and putting green. With a par of 72, Chariot Run has five tee markers ranging from 5,000 yards to 7,200 yards. A possibly reachable uphill par 5 to close out the round makes for some exciting finishes at this course with the large clubhouse in the backdrop.
Old Capital Golf Club
Old Capital is a great mix between Southern golf and Northern golf with firm and fast bermuda fairways in the summer, and smooth, quick, bentgrass greens all season long. Positioning is key to scoring well here. Along with many holes having trees just off the fairway, there are sure to be pins in difficult spots to get to from the wrong side of the short grass. This course also features a multi-level range, and a putting green. At a standard par 72, Old Capital has five tee markers to range from depending on skill level. The green, front tees are set at nearly 5,000 yards, and the black, back tee markers are nearly 6,800 yards. With back to back great scoring opportunity par 5’s on the back nine and a finishing approach shot over water, this is a great place to have a match with a friend.
