Cody Campbell performs a delicate, perfect balance of country, jazz, and western swing. His writing and musicianship are of course top-notch, but the songs are reaching up toward something bigger, like honky-tonk enlightenment. There’s a sweetness to his new album Wandering Boy that’s hard to describe. It’s smart. It’s humble. It’s playful and endearing in a way you just never find anymore.
