Experience the Civil War Legacy of Harrison County

July 13, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Please join us at the Battle of Corydon Historic Site to commemorate the 161st anniversary of Morgan’s Raid on Saturday, July 13th.
Living history reenactors will be on hand to demonstrate aspects of military and civilian life of this tumultuous period in our country’s history. The event is free and will take place rain or shine from 10-5. Some of the sights include demonstrations by local crafts people, weapons and equipment displays, narrated tours of the site by noted local author Michael Peake and a special appearance by Abraham Lincoln.
The Corydon Dulcimer Society will perform at 11 AM while infantry drill and Gatling gun firing demonstrations will take place periodically throughout the day. Kettle cooked beans and cornbread will be served beginning at noon and apple butter will be available for purchase.
This free event is hosted by the Battle of Corydon Memorial Park Committee and the Harrison County Parks Department and made possible thanks to a grant from the Harrison County Community Foundation and generous sponsors including Lucas Oil and the Battle of Corydon chapter of the N.S. Daughters of the Union.
The site is located about a half mile south of downtown Corydon at 100 Old Hwy. 135 SW with parking available across from the event entrance in the parking lot of the Old Capitol Church.
