Designated as a National Scenic Byway in 1996, the Ohio River Scenic Byway is a 302-mile journey through Southern Indiana at times only feet from the mighty Ohio River. It offers the adventurer twists and turns past cypress swamps, scenic overlooks, archaeological sites, stately mansions, power plants and caves. You will find vineyards and orchards, rural villages and thriving cities, church spires and historic courthouses. The Ohio River is the common thread joining a geographically broad and culturally diverse region together.
