Wine Appreciation Class at Turtle Run Winery

February 23 at 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

| $50

Exploring the world of wine one very unique glass at a time and one individualized taste bud at a time. The Turtle Run Wine Experience Class is just that — the most unique wine class ever – sure, we taste Turtle Run wines but we also explore wines from all over the world too! Around 20 wines explored. The class is centered around you and your preferences and at the same time we teach the finer points of wine enjoyment and sensory bombardment…and mood effects on flavor perception as well as how temperature, sound, light, shape of glass, the sense of feel, the type of glass — basically all things environmental having an affect on the overall perception. And let’s also not forget the subconscious adding its two cents worth. We also teach about the grapes themselves, different varieties and how the nearly 10,000 grape varieties grown in the world not only have different flavors, but how terroir, the French term for all things about the location of where the grapes grew, aids to the uniqueness of what you’re consuming. Toss in aging too. And speaking of age, we talk a lot of wine history too. Essentially, you’ll walk away with a new treasure trove of wine knowledge, whether you have enjoyed 500 bottles or just 5. And you’ll appreciate how your uniqueness allows you to taste flavors that perhaps only you perceive. The cost is $50 per person, dinner included, and reservations are required. To make reservations, call 812-952-2650. Cheers, Laura and Jim
