Grandaddy Short Leg at Turtle Run Winery
August 28 at 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm| Free
Grandaddy Short Leg is a hillbilly power trio straight outa the hills of Appalachia. Born in blood and hardened in the crucible of “mountain life,” these former moonshiners come from a tradition of runnin’ high-test that spans 5 generations. But when federal agents shut down their operation, they were forced to explore other means of earning a living. Thus necessity being the mother of invention, a band was formed…and that band found its voice, first, in the Blues of John Lee Hooker, Albert King, and ZZ TOP. Later on, they discovered they had a particular fondness for Classic Rock, and of course, (what they term) REAL Country. They’re an eclectic bunch, despite (or maybe in spite of) their backwoods pedigree, and bring a love of hillbilly culture, Blues, Rock, and Country to their audiences.
Our concerts are free and you are welcome to bring food. No other alcoholic beverages allowed. O nly Turtle Run Winery wines permitted. There will also be grilled foods available for sale including burgers, brats, dogs and chicken sandwiches. And we have artisan cheese and crackers too!
Oftentimes, 100% of food sales are for charitable organizations and local sport teams. Cheers, Laura, Jim, Max, Joe, Catherine, and our wonderful staff.
