One of Harrison County’s beautiful parks with playgrounds and a shelter house.
This trail outlines the routes of the Underground Railroad in Southeast Indiana traveled by the runaway slaves, and the locations of the safe houses that hid them from danger. Three Southeast Indiana driving tours have been developed linking places and stories from slave narratives, newspaper accounts, and actual court cases. Although three complete tours are illustrated, the sites or portions of the tours may be enjoyed singly or in any combination. Tours are free and self-guided. Information is available at the Blaine H. Wiseman Visitor Center.
Positioned uniquely on a bluff in Leavenworth, Indiana, the Overlook Restaurant offers a 20 mile panoramic vista of the Ohio River.
