Christmas in the Caves

Carols and Visits with Santa in Two Historic Caves

Enjoy traditional holiday cheer in settings unique to southern Indiana: Underground! Squire Boone Caverns and Marengo Cave are offering experiences you and your family will treasure for years to come.

Attend both festivities on the weekend of December 8th and 9th. Caves remain 54 degrees all year, so you won't need to bundle up for these activities. See below for details.

Santa SBC 2

Santa at Squire Boone Caverns

Visit with Santa on Saturday, December 8 and 15 from 10am until noon and again from 1pm to 4pm. A photographer will provide digital portraits with Santa ($15 for the first picture, and $5 for each additional). Space is limited, and reservations are required. Call 812-732-4388 to reserve your spot today!

Cavern tours will be held at 10am, 1pm, and 4pm. The candle, soap, and candy shops in the pioneer village will have Christmas specials, and rocks and fossils will be on sale in the cave gift shop.

Caroling in Marengo Cave

This free event is held on Sunday, December 9 from 3pm to 4:30pm. The Music Hall within Marengo Cave  has hosted many musical events since the early 1900s, and will once again resound with seasonal music provided by local artists.  Take in the sounds of the season while snacking on cookies and punch and shopping for a last minute gift in our gift shop.

A silent auction and canned food drive will help spread the holiday spirit by benefiting a local food pantry.
