In 1816, Indiana delegates met under the spreading branches of one of the largest trees of it's kind in the world to draft Indiana's first state constitution.

Indiana Caverns -- Opening in May 2013 -- Indiana's Longest Cave

Indiana's first new show cave in over 40 years will open in the spring of 2013. Work is underway in Harrison County, near Corydon, Indiana, for its grand opening in 2013. Indiana Caverns will show visitors a variety of underground experiences in one tour. The cave will feature a three story waterfall, big rooms, heights and depths, beautiful formations and even a boat ride on a subterranean river. Surface facilities will include a visitor’s center and parking, picnic, and outdoor recreation area. The cave entrance is located just off Hwy 135 south of downtown Corydon, only 5 minutes south of I-64 and less than 30 minutes from downtown Louisville, Kentucky.

Built in 1817, this brick building was rented to the State of Indiana for offices while Corydon was the Capitol (1816-1825).

A simple one-room wooden structure built in 1891 for the education of African-American children.  The school stands as a testament to the motivation of African-American children taught during the days of segregation. It is one of Indiana's oldest standing African-American elementary/secondary schools.
